Aspiration Week

What a wonderful week we have had this week for our Aspirations week. We have many visitors talking to the children about their roles, Police, Fire Service, Beautician, Child Councillor, Shipping worker, Musician, Judge, Nurse, Sports coaches and Safari Park keepers, thankyou to those parents and family members who volunteered! A huge thankyou to Mrs Bradshaw for organising the week and the staff for the support they have given her.

The Year 6 enterprise project was a fantastic event on Thursday afternoon; the children took part in ‘apprentice’ style tasks. They gained so many important skills such as teamwork, perseverance, problem solving and determination. The winning team ‘The Vipers’ made a profit of £36.30!!!!!

It was wonderful to see the children dressed up today we celebrated with an assembly and each class shared experiences from the week:

Nursery shared what they wanted to be when they are older, a doctor, artist, firefighter, builder and a nurse.

Reception shared pictures of what they want to be when they grow up, a mum, a train driver, a farmer, and a policeman.

Year 1 shared a poem they had written about what they wanted to be when they are older, a fisherman, a hairdresser, a boxer and a PE teacher.

Year 2 shared a poem they had written about what they wanted to be when they grow up, a footballer, a rock star, a chef and a PE teacher.

Year 2 also gave this advice….Work hard and your dreams will come true!

Year 3 shared their acrostic poems, their message was ‘It doesn’t matter if you’re not the best at something – always try your best!’

Year 4 shared their poems and the rest of the school had to guess the career they had chosen!

Year 5 shared the work they had done on poetic devices, (personification, rhyme, similes and metaphors) they shared one of the free verse poems they had learnt.

Year 6 shared some personification and the winning enterprise team was announced, they shared their story of success with us all!
