The caring community of St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary School have given that little bit extra this Lent. After seeing a notice on the Knowsley Council website staff decided to ask for donations of eggs for the James Apter Friendship Fund. The response from the families and staff has been overwhelming. Kim & Philip Apter visited the school to collect the donations in person. Headteacher Jude Ryan shared why the charity meant so much to the school community “The James Apter Friendship Fund is all about brightening up a child’s day and when we heard about the Easter egg collection we wanted to be part of it”

The Easter eggs will be taken to the children on the Oncology and Respiratory units of Alder Hey’s Children’s Hospital. The vision of the trust is to bring a smile to every child’s face, just like James always had on his.
